The UAMB, a.k.a the Utah Association of Mortgage Brokers, is a 501(c)6 non-profit organization organized under the laws of the State of Utah. The UAMB is dedicated to improving the mortgage brokerage industry in a number of ways:

1. Increasing consumer confidence in member brokers.
UAMB members subscribe to the Code of Ethics and Best Lending Practices as set forth by the National Association of Mortgage Brokers.

2. Combatting fraudulent and deceptive or illegal practices.
The UAMB promoted and helped shape the legislation which ultimately resulted in licensure of all mortgage brokers and all mortgage companies in Utah, complete with educational and testing requirements, and supports the efforts of the Division of Real Estate (DRE) in its administration of these new laws and rules. The UAMB actively participates with the Mortgage Commission, as well as other divisions of the Department of Commerce, to weed out bad actors and promote excellence and professionalism in the mortgage industry.

3. Ensuring compliance with all laws and administrative rules.
The UAMB serves as a source of information, and provides ongoing education and training for all its members, to assure that they are aware of and compliant with the changing regulations in our industry.

4. Providing quality educational opportunities.
The UAMB sponsors quarterly breakfast meetings, the annual UAMB Expo, the NAMB/West Expo, and the NAMB Expo each year, as well as a host of educational events, luncheons and activites through its various chapters. The UAMB also offers 24/7 online and periodic live pre-licensing and CE classes through the UAMB University, powered by TrainingPro, one of the largest mortgage industry educators in North America.

5. Giving mortgage brokers a forum to discuss issues affecting our industry.
In cooperation with Sego Strategies, the UAMB maintains constant contact with all levels of Utah government, facilitating an ongoing dialogue with lawmakers, regulators, and administrators, in an effort to improve relations between the public and private sectors. The UAMB also provides opportunities for Brokers to openly discuss issues and concerns with the decisionmakers in Utah politics.

The UAMB is comprised of 7 board members, each serving annual terms. The UAMB holds meetings at least monthly, and more frequently prior to the annual Expo. Member mortgage brokers are welcome to attend all UAMB meetings.
